Well, the search for iOS 4.3.4 untethered JailBreak has already started. As usual, iPad 2 will remain out of the list due to a different type of hardware implemented in device which make it non-vulnerable to bootrom exploits. On twitter, @i0n1c posted that we shouldn’t expect the release of an untethered JailBreak too early. Apple is not only closing the userland-JailBreak exploit through software updates but also adding legitimate checks. This is what makes it difficult for hackers to find a kernel patch.
Those who don’t know, @i0n1c discovered the legendary untethered JailBreak which existed in several firmware releases until iOS 4.3.3. Surprisingly, Apple didn’t kill it for a long time. We can call it as a part of luck because Comex’s safari based exploit or JailBreakMe closed within few weeks of the release. Another reason could be a threat to iDevices of the malware attacks which never happened with i0n1c. All we can say is that months of hardwork has been ruined through a software update. Anyways, finding vulnerabilities and developing the simplest JailBreak ever is not an easy task.
So, we advise you to take this tethered JailBreak as pinch of salt. Don’t expect anything else for now.
